As Wall Street continues its selling spree due to the troubled economy, main street is also unloading unwanted items. Selling property is one way many people are getting a little extra cash.

Selling things on the web site E-bay is Bill Barker's entire business. Right now, business is good. He says many people are searching hard to find unwanted property that will grab some quick cash, and in some unfortunate cases, people are even selling expensive heirlooms just to get by.  When gas started hitting $3.50, 4 bucks a gallon... there was a real noticeable upswing in business," said Bill Barker, owner of the I Sold It store at 40th and Old Cheney in Lincoln.

People are swinging in more and more asking how they can sell their things. They also want to know what will sell for the most money.  We're seeing people looking for some other way to make some money," said Barker.

While most people sell their unwanted or unused items, a few are begrudgingly letting go of expensive heirlooms and jewelry.

'It's an unfortunate situation when that happens, but maybe it's someone who's having a hard time making their house payment,"

With so many people selling their things Barker's actually profiting from the bad economy.

"I feel a little bit bad about this, but I'm probably one of the only people who seems to be benefiting from the economy falling apart," said Barker.

He just hopes economic turmoil doesn't also send him packing.

Barker says he's seen another interesting trend. He says people from Europe are increasingly buying American items on E-bay, likely due to the favorable exchange rate on the dollar.
